Apprentices

The vast majority of apprentices that are taken on by Sembcorp UK come from the Teesside Training and Enterprise Group (TTE Group). For over a decade TTE Group has trained young people for careers in engineering and chemical process, the Group has a close partnership link with Sembcorp, who share the same vision to enhance the skill base and achieve economic growth.

TTE Management and Technical Training apprenticeship model consists of up to two years guaranteed “off the job” training, funded by TTE Management & Technical Training in partnership with Redcar & Cleveland College of Further Education, followed by up to two years sponsored training. The “off the job” training still retains its breadth and depth and includes a City & Guilds qualification in Process Plant Operations.

Sponsors of the programme have the advantage of selecting first class candidates with the necessary progression in further education, combined with the required attitude and aptitude, safety awareness and proven track record in time keeping. Most importantly, by recruiting midway through the programme, sponsors are able to employ the individual having had the opportunity to accurately evaluate their ability to perform as an effective member of the workforce.

TTE Management & Technical Training is passionate about the education and development of young people and has a deep-rooted commitment to the delivery of unique training opportunities through their Student Engineering Programme Advanced Apprenticeships.
