We offer 48-week business placements, although placements can be for shorter periods. Sembcorp UK offer students the opportunity to gain real experience working within their chosen field, developing employability skills. It's the perfect opportunity to build on your studies and gain the sort of experience that will set you apart. It’s also fun. You’ll be a valued member of the team from day one, your input will be taken seriously and you’ll be given responsibility so your expertise and confidence can grow day by day.

Alongside accountability in a real role giving you great experience, you’ll benefit from personal development plans, on the job training, courses, networking events, a business mentor and more. We aim to provide a structured programme that will develop skills both personally and professionally, enabling you to put into practice the subjects you have been studying. It will help to develop self confidence, communication and presentation skills. If you impress us over the course of the year you could be looking at a permanent job offer on our graduate scheme. In return, you’ll need to be as committed and enthusiastic as we are.

The people who complete a one-year placement with Sembcorp come from every kind of background imaginable. They do have a fair few things in common though. These include an intense customer focus, a desire to continually develop themselves, exceptional communications skills, and the ability to work well with others. Plus of course, a real talent for delivering outstanding results, day in, day out.

Another thing we look for when we’re picking our placement participants is a mind that never stops thinking “what if?” coupled with the motivation it takes to turn a good idea into reality. You’ll also need to be a fast learner; our placements are real business roles.
