Describe your current position.

I am Graduate Engineer on the Power Station, within the Utilities business.

What’s the best thing for you about being on the scheme?

I have been actively encouraged to go on any courses that are relevant to the work I do, and I will be given the opportunity to work in all areas of the business necessary to gain my Chartership.

Have you achieved anything you’re particularly proud of since working here?

I am helping to progress the Power Station KPI measures which are vital for all members of the business to have an understanding of how successfully and efficiently we are operating.

How would you like to see your career developing over the next few years – and where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?

I would like to get as much experience as possible in all areas of the Utilities business and hopefully I will be in a position to be an effective manager in five years.

Describe your working environment.

I work in the Power Station which means I am in the hub of the daily issues and activities. Being based at the Power Station gives me immediate access to a wealth of knowledge from the experienced operators.

What skills do you need to do your job?

The ability to communicate well is crucial in addition to this good problem solving skills are very useful.

Has Sembcorp met with your expectations?

They have met with my expectations as far as operations are concerned and surpassed my expectations regarding training and encouragement to diversify.

What responsibility have you enjoyed on the scheme?

I am leading several small projects, in particular I have taken on the air system and looking into ways to improve it.

How would you describe the people you work with?

The people I work with are friendly, helpful and focused.
